Introduction
Battery Pack Pro allows you to monitor the battery,
memory, storage cards and network usage on your Smartphone (Battery
Bar & Power Store), launch your favorite
applications (Program Bar), clean up unwanted
files (Power Clean), close down running
applications (Power Task), and get customized
alerts when reminders pop up (Power Alert).
Running Battery Pack Pro
Once Battery Pack Pro has been installed on the Smartphone, go
to the "Programs" menu and find the "Battery Pack Pro"
application. This application will allow you to control the
main features of Battery Pack Pro.
Inserting Battery Bar & Program Bar on
the Home Screen
Run the Battery Pack Pro application and select "Add/Remove
plug-ins". Press "Add" to add them. Once this has finished
Battery Bar & Program Bar will be installed as the top two
plug-ins on your home screen.
Version Information
To see the current version of Battery Pack Pro, run the
Battery Pack Pro application and press the "About" button.
Battery Bar
Inserting Battery
Bar on the Home Screen
Run the Battery Pack Pro application and select "Add/Remove
plug-ins". Select "Battery Bar", or "Both" to add both Battery
Bar & Program Bar. Press "Add" to add them. Once this has
finished Battery Bar will be installed on your home screen. The
same control can be used to remove this plug-in from the home
screen.Using Battery Bar
Once the Battery Bar has been added to the home screen, it will
by default show the Smartphone's current Battery, memory &
network usage, plus the current time in the form of an analog
clock. Navigate to the Battery Bar by using the up/down buttons.
Once on the Battery Bar, use the left/right buttons to move
between the items. Each item on the Battery Bar is described
below:
Power Store Icon
On the far left of the Battery Bar is a battery/folder icon.
Press "Select" when over this item and it will launch the Power
Store application. More information about this is available
here.
Switch Batteries Icon
This item is for users who have multiple batteries. Once the
battery has been changed, press "Select" when over this icon to
tell the Battery Bar a new battery has been installed. This
allows the battery time remain figure to show accurate
information for each battery.
Battery Information
The battery icon at the top of the display shows the amount of
battery life remaining as a percentage and also as the amount of
"orange" on the battery. If the battery is charging a small plug
appears on the left hand side of the battery. If the battery is
fully charged a tick icon is displayed over the battery.
Pressing "Select" when the highlighter is over this icon will
display the Power Management Settings information.
The text below the battery icon information shows three types
of information. Pressing "Select" when over this text will
switch between the three modes:
- Text showing the amount of battery life left (e.g. "5h 23m
r"). the "r" signifies time remaining. When the device is
charging this will change to show the amount of time left
until the device is fully charged (e.g. "24m c").
- The percentage battery life remaining (e.g. "68%").
- The amount of time since the battery was last charged
(e.g. "1h 45m e"). When the device is charging this displays
"Charging".
On some Smartphones the battery may never say "100%" charged,
but may stay at 99%. This is due to the battery information the
Smartphone is providing to the Battery Bar. This doesn't mean
there is a problem with your Smartphone.
The battery time remaining figure is an estimate of the
amount of battery time that is remaining. It will get more
accurate over time as Battery Pack Pro "learns" how you use your
Smartphone.
Memory Information
The memory bank contains three pieces of information - the icon,
meter & text. The icon shows whether program or storage memory
is being viewed and the meter shows the percentage memory free.
Pressing "Select" on the icon/meter will switch between showing
program memory, storage memory, or automatically cycling between
program & storage memory.
The text below the icon/meter shows the amount of memory free
(e.g. "10 MB"). Pressing "Select" on the text will switch
between showing this information as KB/MB free and as percentage
free.
Storage Card Information
The storage card bank contains three pieces of information - the
icon, meter & text. The icon denotes which storage card the user
is viewing. The meter shows the percentage space free. Pressing
"Select" on the icon/meter will switch between different storage
cards (if more than one are detected on the Smartphone), or
between automatically cycling between storage cards on the
Smartphone. On some Smartphones the internal memory storage card
will appear here as "IPSM".
The text below the icon/meter shows the amount of memory free
(e.g. "10 MB"). Pressing "Select" on the text will switch
between showing this information as KB/MB free and as percentage
free.
Network Information
The network bank shows information about network usage. The
computer screen icons light when data is being downloaded or
uploaded to the device. Next to the icon is displayed "DL", "DL
rate", "UL", "UL Rate" and "Tot" which shows the amount of MB/KB
downloaded, the download rate (in bits per second or KB per
second), the amount of MB/KB uploaded, the upload rate, and the
total data downloaded & uploaded. Pressing "Select" on the icon
will display a screen which displays more detailed information
about the network connection. Pressing "Select" on the text
below the icon will switch between showing "DL", "DL Rate",
"UL", "UL Rate" and "Tot" information.
Analog Clock
This displays the current time. Pressing "Select" on the clock
will display the date & time settings.
Settings Icon
The orange icon on the right hand side of the Battery Bar takes
the user to the Battery Bar settings page. For more information
on this, click here.
Help Icon
Pressing "Select" on the help icon will display these help
instructions.
Battery Bar Options
The Battery Bar options page can be accessed in two ways:
- Through the orange settings icon on the right hand side of
the Battery Bar.
- By selecting "Battery Bar Options" in the Battery Pack Pro
application.
The following settings can be adjusted:
General
Size
The vertical size of the Battery Bar can be adjusted from
"tiny", "small" and "big". The larger the size, the more
information can be displayed, but more of the home screen is
taken up with the information.
Show Percentage
Checking this check box shows percentage information in the
Battery Bar meters & on the battery icon. Unchecking removes
this information. This may be useful to more clearly view the
information in the meters.
Reset Battery Time Remain
Checking this, then pressing "Done" will reset the battery time
remaining calculation. This can be useful if you change how you
use your Smartphone (e.g. you begin regularly playing music) and
want the Battery Bar to show a more accurate battery time
remaining figure.
Storage Card Icon
At the bottom of the "General" Battery Pack settings screen is
the option to adjust the icon for each storage card on the
system. Use the selector with different MB values in it to
switch between the storage cards Battery Bar knows about. Use
the "Next" button to change the icon for this storage card. If
you regularly use several storage cards in the Smartphone, it
can be useful to use different icons for each storage card so
you can easily tell them apart.
Customize
Battery Bar can display 6 "banks" of information. A "bank" is a
section of battery, memory, storage card, network, or clock
information. Use the Customize screen to select which
information to display on the screen.
The "Disable Network Monitor" check box can be used to stop
gathering network information if the Network Monitor on the
Battery Bar & Power Store are not required.
Speech
Battery Bar announces various battery & memory events (e.g. when
the battery is low, or the battery is charged). These settings
can be altered on this screen. The voice announcements can
repeat, or can be announced only once.
Program Bar
Inserting Program
Bar on the Home Screen
Run the Battery Pack Pro application and select
"Add/Remove plug-ins". Select "Program Bar", or "Both" to add
both Battery Bar & Program Bar. Press "Add" to add them. Once
this has finished Program Bar will be installed on your home
screen. The same control can be used to remove this plug-in from
the home screen.Using Program Bar
Once the Program Bar has been added to the home screen, it will
by default show a list of program icons on the home screen.
Navigate to the Program Bar by using the up/down buttons. Once
on the Program Bar, use the left/right buttons to move between
the icons.
The up/down buttons on the right hand side of the screen switch
between displaying multiple lines on the home screen. This
allows many icons to be accessed from the home screen on just 1
line of icons.
Program Bar Options
The Program Bar options page can be accessed by selecting
"Program Bar Options" in the Battery Pack Pro application. To
adjust the which icons are displayed on the Program Bar, select
"Program Bar Icons".
The following settings can be adjusted:
Show date
A specially shortened date can be displayed on the Program Bar
on the first line. To disable the date, uncheck the "Show date"
check box.
Static
Program Bar is made up of a series of static lines (i.e. lines
that do not scroll) and scrolling lines. Changing the number of
static lines will change how many are displayed on the home
screen.
Scrolling
The "Scrolling" box selects how many total lines will be devoted
to lines that can be scrolled.
Program Bar Icons
The Program Bar icons page can be accessed by selecting "Program
Bar Icons" in the Battery Pack Pro application.
This screen allows the icons on the Program Bar to selected.
Unlike the existing list of icons on the home screen, these
icons never change and can be used as quick ways of accessing
your favorite applications.
Use the up/down buttons to switch between the box to choose the
icon, and the icons below. Use the left/right buttons to move
between the program to be selected at the top of the screen, and
between the icons at the bottom of the screen. The scrolling
icons cannot be edited.

despite this.
When an alert sounds, it can play for between 0 & 59 seconds.
If 0 is selected the sound will be played exactly once only.
After playing for between 0 & 59 seconds, the sound can be
repeated every 1-29 minutes. Setting this to 0 will mean the
sound is never repeated.
The sound alert can be stopped after 1-119 minutes. Setting
this to 0 will mean it will be stopped after playing the sound
once only.
