How does Journal Bar work?
Journal Bar gets weather, stock & news data from the Internet. It gets the data in a compressed form to save on bandwidth and to download the information quickly. Specify in the options how often Journal Bar will update, and it will automatically go out and get new content so it's ready for you to view when you next use your device.

Journal Bar doesn't get any data. What's happening?
First of all, check that your BlackBerry can connect to the Internet by going to the "Browser" application and try to access a web page.

If this doesn't work, see our connection settings page.

If all else fails, contact us with your connection settings so we can ascertain your connection issue.

Journal Bar has got some data, but some is missing.
It may also take a little time to get data from the Internet into Journal Bar, particularly with slow wireless connections. The news story information isn't gathered automatically, and so it may take some time to view this data as the web page is loaded.

Also, there may be a problem with the web site that is getting the data. In particular, some web sites have occasional down-time to update their web pages. Wait an hour or two and the data should be updated correctly. If the problem persists, unselecting that piece of data in the Journal Bar Options section will stop it trying to get this data.

How do I find stock ticker symbols?
Click here for common ticker symbols. For non-US stock symbols, look them up at  http://moneycentral.msn.com.

Which countries are supported for weather data?
All countries (with the exception of Bhutan) have weather information.

Why can't I see radar & infrared images?
Currently only US & Canadian cities can display radar images for the weather. Infrared images are available for most cities in the world.

Radar and Infrared images may not be downloaded automatically (depending upon your settings). To download the images manually:

• Go to the weather information for this city and select "Details".
• Move to the Radar or Infrared tab and select it.
• Select "Options", then select "Update Image Now".

To get the Radar / Infrared images to automatically update:

• Go to the weather information for this city and select "Details".
• Move to the Radar or Infrared tab and select it.
• Select "Options", then select "Enable IR / Radar AutoUpdate".

How can I zoom my radar & infrared images?

• Go to the weather information for this city and select "Details".
• Move to the Radar or Infrared tab and select it.
• Select "Options", then select "View at full size".

Use the trackwheel to scroll the image vertically. Hold a shift key while moving the trackwheel to scroll horizontally.

My news headlines don't display properly.
Russian news headlines / stories use the Cyrillic font, and so may not display correctly on some devices.
